Description

Citicoline Tablets also have the brand name “CITICONAR 500” and belong to a class of medications known as ‘psychostimulants’ that treat stroke, head injury or trauma, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and glaucoma. A stroke results from a lack of blood supply to the brain. Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive memory loss associated with ageing. Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement. Glaucoma is a vision issue that arises as a result of damage to the optic nerve, which is behind vision.

This Tablet has ‘Citicoline’, a psychostimulant or nootropic, which is used to nourish and reduce damage to the nerve cells in several conditions related to the brain. It enhances the function of the central nervous system (spinal cord and brain). It restores nerve cells through the encouragement of the production of phospholipids (builds neuronal membrane) within the brain. It enhances learning, memory, judgment, and thinking skills. It helps enhance recovery in patients with disturbance of consciousness, in patients with head injury or any other issue related to the brain and who have undergone surgery.

Medical Benefits of Citicoline Tablets

  • It is used to enhance brain health.
  • It is applied in the treatment of stroke, head injury, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and glaucoma.
  • It safeguards the brain against neurotoxicity (brain damage). It serves as a precursor for phospholipids (found in the outer membrane of the nerve cell) and also induces phospholipid synthesis within the brain.
  • It also triggers blood flow and oxygen intake in the brain. This enhances cerebral activity and cognition, memory, and thinking ability in patients with progressive brain disorders.
  • It increases the rate of recovery among patients with neurological diseases (diseases of the brain).
