Antimigraine
Migraine is the most frequent vascular headache, usually on one side of the pain, and occasionally with nausea, vomiting, fear of sound, photophobia, etc. Before pain, visual impairment or other aura, and migraine is complicated, not yet completely explained. The presymptom phase has nervous system signs and symptoms, where cerebral blood flow dramatically decreases. Common migraines are usually localised congestion, followed by the ductile blood flow, intracranial and extracranial blood flow, the pulse amplitude of blood vessels and the intracranial artery more prominently. Mild or moderate attacks of migraine are treated with antiemetics followed by analgesics like aspirin, paracetamol, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or antiemetics and ergotamine or dihydroergotamine. Sumatriptan, a selective serotonin (5-HT)1B/D agonist, is employed if attacks are unresponsive to ergotamine or in the event of intolerable side effects. The recently introduced migraine medications zolmitriptan, naratriptan, rizatriptan, and eletriptan have similar pharmacological profiles with minor differences that reflect slight variations in efficacy, headache recurrence, and side effects. Newer medications in the prophylaxis of migraine include cyclandelate, valproic acid and magnesium.
An antimigraine medication is a drug that is useful in the treatment of migraines and possesses analgesic properties.
